LOTUS YOGA CENTER ~ BODY WORK DESCRIPTIONS
Reflexology _ an ancient art form for restoring balance and harmony for mind and body. Reflexology is a science that deals with certain principles that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every living organ, gland and body area. Reflexology promotes the body’s marvelous ability to adjust and adapt to life’s challenging times. Just simply taking time out to relax can help you let go of tension and enjoy a feeling of restored balance in your mind and body.
A trained reflexologist has the knowledge and sensitivity of touch to send a calm, intentional message to the nervous system, through the feet, hands, and ears to relieve stress and tension, helping nature to normalize the systems of the body. By applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands or ears, a reflexologist joins in the silent dialogue within your body where the constant motion of the working systems are creating necessary adjustments that result in a healthy condition. As you begin to unwind and enjoy new and pleasant sensations, tension then decreases and pain subsides.
The session will begin with a relaxing table to lie down upon with supportive props (pillows) if needed. An introduction to touch will be given with the application of thumb or finger pressure to each of your feet, hands, or ears. The response to reflexology will vary with each individual. The pressure applied to the areas of the body is adjusted according to each individuals comfort level. The more often you receive reflexology the more benefits you are likely to notice. Your reflexologist will help you decide the best frequency for appointments to meet your needs.
